When a generation loses the essence of the call to their life, they are given over to the enemy. It’s not that God has done this, but people who have walked without knowing God and His word. A generation has given over their promises, their most crucial covenant—a covenant of relationship of God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We have now entered a time of destitution, but God will bring about the one who you never thought would come to the forefront to bring the attention back to God.
Matthew 5:3 says, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” When poor is used this way, it means “to be destitute, without resources; weak, powerless; spiritually bankrupt.” Being poor in spirit is the platform on which all the other beautiful attitudes are built that please God and motivate Him to respond with spiritual and sometimes physical blessings.”
We are often reminded in passages of the word of God and how God saved people. We are at a time of great divide in the world—religions, ideologies, politics, and even family structure. The push began when the internet was formed; it was meant to help our lives be more productive, but evil came in and caused the beginning of ideas to cause distractions from the word of God. We, I mean America, a Nation that was founded on the principles of God’s word, have now been torn apart due to man’s mind, will, and emotions away from the creator who created him. Man is now in a place of destitution. The bankruptcy of society's morals brings us to repentance and mourning the loss of the blessing. A blessing is not materialistic but a blessing of peace, hope, and joy. Those three have always been with the poor in spirit, but a man who has lost his way has begun to take on the very nature of the enemy according to pride, jealousy, envy, and strife.
Poor in spirit are those who recognize their spiritual poverty and, casting aside all self-dependence, seek God’s grace. (NKJ, Spirit-filled bible, ref. Matt.5:3). A man who has given into pride, Jealousy, envy, and strife has thought more about self and has not turned from it but has easily gone right into the areas that will destroy the mind, will, and emotions. The wholeness of one’s soul begins daily by reflecting on God’s word, repenting to the Lord, and seeing the redemption of Jesus, who paid it all. Yes, He paid it all; the faith He has given for you to make the first step into repentance and say, Lord, I am a sinner, I have been prideful, I have kept a stern face and stern heart to keep myself from being in the presence of you. I want you, but I want my way more. You need to share this place with someone who has been there so they can lead you in prayer, but most of all, if you don’t have someone kneel and bring it before the Lord. He will answer. Because at the end of your life, it will be you and Him. No one else but the two of you.
